Assignment due 2/9 Modified Version

Literary Classics Grades 4-8  This was a great idea, thank you! Pick on book and complete the table for just that book.

Ok Time to prepare yourselves for future competitions by sharpening your two most vulnerable areas of knowledge!

Part 1 World Literature/Classics for Elementary School - This is also very usefull and if you have explored this assignment, you will be an asset to your team!

First you must locate the top 10 Fairy Tales of all time.  This will vary depending on your source, but that will be to your advantage to see what other people found and broaden the scope of this quest.  Next, create a wiki page, Fair Tales plus initials, Insert a table with 3 columns. In the first put the title and author or origin (some have only retold by) next put the name of the main character and lastly include a brief summary of the plot.  Just include the gist, it should be short enough to be easily remembered. Here is a starting place! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fairy_tales

Part 2 World History - Want a fun but intensive way to create a timeline? http://www.capzles.com/ If you have no email address, ask mom or dad for help to set up your acct. You may even find on like I did here. CHECK IT OUT!

You can start on this and finish it on 2/7.

Choose 1 country

Create a new wiki page using the country name/your initials

Use www.Scribblemaps.com to create an annotated timeline of the major events every 50 years for the most pivotal time period for that country.

You can search for instance "mexico history timeline" and get http://www.facts-about.org.uk/history-and-events-timeline-mexico.htm

You use the little colorful pins to enter the dates and the details. Just copy and paste from the list of facts.

My facts didn't indicate location so I chose random places in Mexico.  If you have a place then by all means mark the location as stated.

Have fun!

NOTE: To embed the code you must first save the map and then choose widgets (gear icon).  You choose Insert on the wiki menu, HTML and paste the code into the box and save. If you need help, just ask.

When you get into scribblemaps, you use a place holder (push pin) and drag it to the location. It will open a little window in which you can enter the date and event and any other details. You may even add an image.

Use the push pins. Once you drag them to a location you can add the details such as date/event and then description. You can number them if you like.

The Create Page button is on the upper right hand side of the home page. You can also click on the Pages TAB at the top and choose Create New Page. Let me know if this is still giving you trouble.

Also, the time stubs on the comments are always wrong. It is really an hour earlier than 8 o'clock right now.
